In a perfect world... Exhibition in PUB Department Store, January 28th–February 7th Beckmans College of Design

How would fashion appear in a perfect world, if the preconditions were changed?
The graduate students from the departments of fashion together with advertising and graphic design of Beckmans College of Design have explored and challenged current norms within the world of fashion.

In a variety of fashion concepts and movies, questions are formulated regarding identity, consumption, body ideals, medialisation and production. The aim of this project is to add to the existing fashion system; the conditioning framework of fashion design and communi- cation of today. The exhibition is an initiative of Beckmans College of Design in collaboration with the PUB Department Store.

Twelve fashion students present visionary collections of 3 outfits, each with an ambition to add something to the fashion system. Each student has been given the chance to make their personal statement, and creative freedom to explore his or her personal relationship to the current norms.

Fifteen students in Advertising and Graphic Design have created the concept and strategic platform of the exhibition and created fashion films, online communication and Graphic materials to visualize the concepts of the fashion students. The shared result consists of
12 collections, 12 fashion films and 12 statements starting with “In a perfect world”.
